
Accompanist/Associate Director/Soprano
Blithe Brouwers has been with GRWC for more than 8 years.
Blithe is a music educator with Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music Education from San Diego State University and Western Michigan University.
Her teaching experience has included band, middle school choral, musical theatre and elementary general music on the Navajo Rreservation in Arizona and the West Michigan area.
Throughout her career as a music educator, she has also been active as an accompanist for school and church choirs, instrumental and vocal soloists, the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and the Grand Rapids Women's Chorus. She recently received training through the Dalcroze Training Center at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in Eurhythmics, a method of combining creative movement with musical learning. She works to incorporate this joyful approach into her teaching with children and adults alike.
Blithe has three sons and currently lives in the suburban Grand Rapids area with her youngest son, Louie, and her beagle Sally.
