Cathajane (CJ) Galante, Bass, Board Member
CJ is in her eighth year of the Chorus, singing bass (second alto) loudly and proudly. She is also the Bass Section Leader , which means she tries really hard to keep track of trouble spots in the music and get some help for her sister singers .
CJ joined GRWC in 2001 to fill an empty spot in her schedule after her younger son left for college. It was a huge commitment to join in September and have memorized Dianne Benjamin’s Breast Cancer Oratorio by October, but she did it!
Music has always been part of her life: piano lessons as a child, playing in clarinet in the school band from elementary through high school, singing in children’s church choirs, and in adult choirs. The opportunity to sing with the Chorus filled a need for music expression, but evolved into a wonderful network of women friends and contacts in the Grand Rapids Community.
Her husband, Chris, never misses a concert and is an awesome supporter and gentle critic.
